5 Latinx Collaborations We Wish To See In 2022 By: Lupe Llerenas

2021 was a year full of surprises for music fans. From the return of Latinx music festivals such as Baja Beach Festival to Grupo Firme linking up with Maluma and Bad Bunny producing two number, one hits with “La Noche de Noche” with Rosalia and “Volvi” with the kings of bachata, Aventura. But as fans, we’re always wishful thinking and wanting more.

In recent years, we’ve been able to see the rise of Latinx music. The genre spans multiple languages, cultures, and experiences in a way that no other category does. Latinx music reflects its diversity more than ever.

With the recent music we’ve received in the previous years, we’d love to see more collaborations amongst Latinx artists. That being said, we came up with several collaborations we wish to see come into fruition in 2022.

Rosalia and Rauw Alejandro

This one is a given. Rosalia and Rauw Alejandro have been an official item since the summer of 2021. However, aside from their love life, it would be nice if we got a music collaboration between the two. The chemistry is there. They’re both extremely talented and some of the most popular Latinx artists right now.

Myke Towers and Jay-Z

The Puerto Rican rapper has always admired Jay-Z. During several interviews, Towers shared how he’s seen him as a role model. He’s quoted him in his music and when his son was born, he named him after Jay.

Kali Uchis and Paloma Mami

Kali Uchis had a successful year with her song “Telepatía,” which earned her first number one. Paloma Mami dropped an incredible album with “Sueńos de Dali” at the top of 2021. We would love to hear them collaborate since, both Latinx artists have been following each other on social media, showing each other love and supporting one another.

Farruko and Anitta

In 2019, Farruko and Anitta were a part of the remix to Dalex’s “Bellaquita” along with Lenny Tavárez, Natti Natasha, and Justin Quiles. Since then, their chemistry has been over the roof. Both have been killing it individually and it would be nice for Anitta and Farruko to link up once again with yet another song but this time, just the two of them.

Rosalia and Harry Styles

These two have worked together already but not in a collaborative song way. In a recent interview, Harry Styles said he was a big fan of Rosalia and during the Billboard’s Women In Music, Rosalia heard his comments and said she was here for it. Last month, the two linked up when she narrated Harry Style’s “Adorn You” video. Now, all we need is the actual collaboration and I’m sure it’s in the making.
