Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I absolutely suck at coming up with costume ideas. I usually put together something at the last minute. I do, however, like the colors black and orange. Orange is a bright autumn color and black while it can be thought of as “spooky” gives the outfit a bit of elegance.

There is one look that has worked while working in the nonprofit sector, at meetings and on camera.

Orange silky top from Banana Republic breathes wonderfully in hot weather. You can add a light jacket to keep you warm if it’s a bit chilly outside.

A black cotton skirt that has a layer of lace. The black skirt has a bit of “witch” flair. You can top this off with a witch hat or cat ears.

Halloween can be a time to dress up as another person. Or you can just be yourself in orange and black.
