How To Go To The Salon During COVID-19
We are in the sixth month of shelter-in-place. For six months, we couldn’t visit any salons. So our nails had no polish, our hair was looking messy and unhealthy. But slowly, salons started to open up. Here are some things to ask and/or think about before visiting your salon.
Temperature Check
Ask your salon if they are taking body temperature checks. Not just of their clients but of staff. This is a simple procedure that for the most part is required for salons to do. Personally, my hairstylist checked my temperature outside, before I could enter the building. As well as checked her temperature.
Masks On
This is a no-brainer. Masks should be on at all times. In fact, my stylist gave me a disposable mask, so I wouldn’t get my mask dirty.
Hand Sanitizer
When you enter the establishment, hand sanitizer should be seen everywhere! You should also use some before you enter as well.
Gloves and Sanitizer Station
There should be plastic shields or/and gloves. This is not just for you, but for your stylist/nail artist should. Plastic disposable gloves protect your stylist or nail artist from any germs you may have brought in.
Ask About Their Reopening Procedures
It’s okay to ask them about how many clients they see a day. Or if they are performing services outside. Some places, depending on the county and state, may have a certificate stating they have met all re-opening requirements. However, do give salons some grace, as information and requirements are constantly changing and they are trying to stay afloat.
Be safe out there. Try to limit your appointments, as no sparkly nails are worth getting sick.
