A Valentine’s Makeup Look That Will Make Your Face POP

Valentine’s Day is upon us. With shades of red and pink. We talked with our favorite Los Angeles based makeup artist, Adria Rook about how to jazz up your Valentine’s Day makeup look.

Recently Rook went to Sephora and tried Rihanna’s new setting powder that was just released with her concealers.

“If you want something that is lightweight and smells BOMB, then I highly suggest getting her new powders,” exclaims Rook.

Once you have your face set, you have to go to your eyes. To pop those eyes for your date with yourself, Rook suggests Sephora mini pallet of the Too Faced Tickled Peached.

“The colors are very pigmented and will make those eye POP; as an added bonus, the pallet actually smells like peaches,” shares Rook, “Now if you want to be one of those “anti-valentine girls” go for purple.”

Rook loves Huda Beauty palette called Obsessions and the pallet color that will give you the perfect purple hue is Amethyst. Not only does this pallet have great bold colors, but you can also use it to add sparkles to any look for the rest of the year.

If your Valentine’s Day plans will include a long night, Rook uses Urban Decay’s setting spray, All Nighter. She promises that your makeup will not budge an inch.

However, if you want to treat yourself to a home Valentine’s Day, go out and grab yourself some bath bombs.

“Lush has a plethora of bath bombs to choose from to spoil yourself, and Sephora has some very affordable face masks treat whatever you’re looking for. Whether it be moisturizing, to clay masks they have them all. There is nothing wrong with staying home on Valentines and pampering ourselves because sometimes we all need is some self-love,” shares Rook.

This Valentine’s Day takes a moment to love and treat yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re with someone or your single, as Ru Paul says “If you can’t love yourself how the hell can you love anyone else.”
