Baja Beach Fest 2021 Returns to Rosarito, Mexico, Bringing Some of Hottest Latin Reggaeton Biggest Stars Like Karol G, Ozuna, J Balvin, Becky G & Many More

After nearly two years spent inside, Baja Beach Fest brought the best in Latin Music and Reggaeton to the shores of the Pacific once again.

The first night of the long-anticipated 2021 festival brought plenty of star power, capping off with back-to-back performances from genre giants, Ozuna and Karol G. Earlier in the day, El Alfa brought dembow heat, rising Puerto Rican star Lunay played songs from his recent El Niño album, and reggaetonero Dalex dipped into his vast catalog of hits.

Karol G gets emotional as she sings her smash-hit “Ocean” at BBF 2021.

Saturday’s acts more than lived up to that standard. Anuel AA brought his smoky-voiced bravado to his first-ever BBF performance. Versatile hitmaker Farruko brought down the house with his first-ever performance of the electronic crossover smash “Pepas.” Puerto Rican reggaetoneros Myke Towers dug into his deep bag of hits, and Miami native up-and-comer Mariah stole the show, performing her hit Karol G collaboration “EL MAKINON.”

Farruko kept the party going with an electrifying performance of his hit song “Pepas.”

This year, the open-air, oceanside Baja Beach Fest was able to proceed due to its rigorous safety protocols. All guests entering the festival were required to show proof of vaccination, or to provide a negative test (taken within 72 hours of the festival’s start) from a COVID Clinic location. Inside the festival, guests are required to wear masks, unless actively eating or drinking. The comprehensive safety protocol sets a gold standard, paving a path forward for live music to proceed safely in an uncertain time, and for festival-goers to hear the music they love in a communal setting once again.

Sunday found festival-goers in a celebratory mood, as the passionate fans were treated to sets by some of the biggest stars of the genre.

The night closed with a flashy performance from global superstar J Balvin, who played songs from his 2020 hit Colores album, new songs from his upcoming album José, and brought out special guest Nio Garcia. Becky G delivered bangers in both English and Spanish, and Rauw Alejandro proved why he’s one of Latin music’s hottest commodities with his pure-voiced melodies. The fest also welcomed “Relación” and “Otro Trago” hitmaker Sech, powerhouse singer-songwriters Justin Quiles and Jhay Cortez, and Chilean singer Paloma Mami.

Becky G surprised the BBF audience with special guest and Mexican Regional group, Banda MS.
