Over the holiday season, you probably saw commercials after commercials illustrating and selling eye creams, serums, and anti-wrinkle creams. With promises of younger skin, glowing skin, better skin.

While yes, these commercials are trying to sell you youth in a bottle, creams and serums are important things for your skin no matter what age you are. You don’t need to be a 50-year-old trying to look 20 again, to use these products. The younger you start using these products the better off your skin will be later in life.

Serums:

Serums are some of the most potent products that you can put on your face. They are designed to be concentrated amounts to help with your skin’s imperfections. You can use it for a multitude of reasons. Some of the most popular ones are for anti-wrinkle, age spots, brightening and firming. The best time to put serums on your skin is after you wash your face at night after your beauty routine, right before you go to bed. It doesn’t take much to cover your face, a little goes a long way.

Eye Creams:

Eye creams are the second most important thing to use on your face besides sunscreen. They are the most important because their skin under your eyes is the thinnest amount of skin we have on our face. That’s why one of the first wrinkles to happen on your face is crows feet right around your eyes. It doesn’t matter what age you are eye creams should be apart of your skincare routine. Eye creams are also applied at night like serums. Another way to help with not getting wrinkles around your eyes is when you take off your makeup start from the outer corner of your eye near your temple. Then lightly go towards the inner corner of your eye near your nose. This will help top not stretch the skin so much over the years.

Serums and eye creams are expensive, but that’s because they are extremely potent products meant to penetrate the skin. Determine what your skin goal is, talk to a dermatologist if you have sensitive skin or are prone to breakouts. This will help you determine what serums and eye creams are best for your skin.
