My Day As A Founder And Editor-In-Chief

To be an entrepreneur sounds sexy, doesn’t it? I mean you get to get work remotely, and you are working on a project you love. Yes, it can be sexy. However when a client is late with a payment, or you hit writer’s block, you are so tempted to run into the closets Safeway for a job.

I’ve been thinking, what is the best way to share my daily tasks with everyone. Every day is different. Yes, I get to start my day in my pj’s. Here is a rough outline of a typical day. Yes, I do start my day later than most entrepreneurs, but instead of fighting my natural self, I decided to allow myself to work the way I work.

@amy hung

10 am – Wake Up ~~ I tend to wake up around 10. I am not a morning person, and I know I need the sleep.

10: 15 am – Dance Party ~~I need music to wake up. So I play some music and dance in my room. Don’t judge it’s awesome. I mean you don’t dance while brushing your teeth.

10: 30 – Wash Up/Shower ~~ I like to shower first thing in the morning. As much as it’s in my natural behavior to lounge in pj’s, I tend to focus more when I am dressed. Oh yes, I still have music playing in the shower. Depending on the day, I might do work in a robe after the shower or put on clothes.

11:15 – Breakfast ~~ I never skip breakfast. I grab an english muffin or oatmeal.

11:15-11:30 – Answer emails and update projects ~~ I answer the emails that come in from team members, companies, community partners, etc. I update the projects for the interns and team members.

11:30-12:00 – Research~~ I like to research topics for YouTube videos and articles. I read other people’s articles, watch YouTube videos, or read a book.

12:00-1:00– Answer emails again ~~ The emails flow, so I like to go back to them and send emails myself.

1:00-2:00 – Lunch & Personal Stuff ~~ I like to give myself a good time for lunch and answer personal text messages and Facebook messages.

3-5:00 – Write and update content calendar ~~ My creative energy comes later in the day. I use this time to write and update our content calendar.

5:00-6:00 – Social media updates ~~ Update the social media channels for the following day or week.

6:00-7:00 – Dinner or Snack ~~~ This depends if Nick is home for dinner. Sometimes I might snack and eat dinner later with him or just eat dinner.

7:00-8:00 – Back to writing ~~~ I write articles with or without Nick. He either is working out during this time, or sitting next to me. He knows that the evening is when my creative energy is on full blast.

8:00-9:00 – Social media updates and write to-do list ~~ I like to go back and check on social media.

9-10:00 – Wind down ~~~ movies, YouTube,

10-11:00 – Reading ~~~ I have to read books for YouTube. I also enjoy reading. So, I read while Nick watches another documentary.

As I stated, this is an average day. Things change of course. I might have an event to attend. I might be sick. Nick might need so more personal attention. I might have gotten in an emotional fight with a family member and need to cry under the covers.

Life as an entrepreneur is a life of prioritizing and accepting your work style.
